Percussion half-stock target rifle by William Read, Boston in fine original condition with lots of barrel brown, folding front sight, fancy rear sight.
The gun is .38 caliber with a 29.5-inch octagon barrel. It is German silver mounted with a brass trigger plate; a nice engraved patch box and cheek piece. All furniture is engraved except the escutcheons. It has been fitted with a new nipple and was likely being shot. Original ramrod. Overall length: 44.75 inches; barrel length: 29.5 inches.
