Flintlock Pistol, Albany, New York
Barrel Marked Pond
Pond & Co.

Flintlock pistol; 9-inch 55-caliber octagonal brass barrel marked Albany on the flat; the engraved lock plate marked Pond & Co. Pond built flintlock pistols for sale in American from barrels and locks imported from England in the 1830s.
The gun has British proofs; engraved brass trigger guard with pineapple forend and long tang; engraved brass buttcap...brass pipes. The wood rammer is possibly original. There is a nicely done old repair in the wrist; a very tight crack was secured by wooden pin-probably during period of use. Some fill around tang; other very minor imperfections.
