M1855 U.S. Bayonet Saber
With Scabbard - SOLD


Model 1855 sword bayonet, ribbed brass grip and counterguard; three-quarter length fuller; false edge at tip; no apparent maker mark, but "ID" or "1D" done with a punch on underside of guard, a "4" on pommel, and an unreadable mark on the flat of the grip; leather scabbard with brass hanger and tip; bayonet and scabbard in very good condition with some scratches and nicks on the brass of the bayonet and a few light lines on the scabbard where there has been some flaking of the color. The bayonet measures 26.5-inches in length; the scabbard measures 22.5-inches in length.
