Approximately 43.5-inches long overall; 16-gauge barrels approximately 27.5-inches; .45-caliber barrel is same length. Drilling percussion shotgun/rifle having serial number 11924; top rib is finely matted and has a flip-up rear sight and longitudinally dovetailed silver bead front sight. Bottom rifle barrel has a sling loop; double under-lugs, single Kersten bolt; both triggers are set. Full coverage engraving on all metal parts including the action, trigger guard and top lever; lock plate and tang which has an engraved flip-up sight. The action and other parts are engraved with scroll, foliate and animal motifs including fox, recumbent elk; buck-deer and a sporting dog. The dense old world European walnut pistol grip butt-stock has outstanding grain with a line and cross engraved butt-plate further decorated with an engraved cross-grid; each diamond engraving centered by a tiny circle engraving; also scroll engraving, engraved screws and short foliate engraved ogee shaped tang. Behind the trigger guard is a lovely horn grip with scrolled return. The stock has a cheek piece for right hand shooter, sling loop, and tight fine checkering with line borders. Forend with full coverage engraved fastener, key and escutcheon, and has wood and checkering matching butt-stock. Extremely fine; 16-gauge barrels retain 99% original damascus. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny. There is the usual "under the" forend leading edge rub on rifle barrel. Stocks retain virtually all of their original finish with surface loss on outer edge of cheek-piece as depicted. Forend checkering is compressed along the very bottom however no diamonds are missing; mentioned for total accuracy and full-disclosure. Action is tight. Screws are excellent, and appear to be unturned. A terrific example in fine condition.
