A nice example with incised and checkered walnut stock...the .45-caliber barrel is 2.5-inches long and is signed "DERINGER" on the flat (No other markings.) engraved and signed lockplate...The engraved breech with strong traces of blue; engraved tang and tang-screw with nice old color; all other metal parts including dolphin form hammer with good old surface. German silver mountings including engraved trigger guard with long shaped finial, nose cap, butt cap; shield shape thumb-piece and barrel wedge escutcheon. A single silver inlay decorated the area behind lock engraved plate screw. The ramrod has a horn tip; mechanically fine; stock has some dents and a ¼-inch tight crack on left between the screw and barrel, overall very good condition with some bluing on barrel. (Approximately 6.5-inches overall length.)
