Standard two line marking, nickel finish, blade front site...rear site is in cocking breechblock; two-piece smooth rosewood grips and original magazine...
Nickel-plated overall, hammer retains 95% +++ original bright blue, rosewood grips; frame with factory floras scroll engraving with punch dot background on sides having light similar scrolls on backstrap and geometric designs on barrel. The barrel marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. NY. / RIDERS PAT. AUG. 15TH 1871." Magazine tube and head are nickel-plated brass. Retains 80%+ plating on magazine, rest of plating is bright with a few minor flaws, hammer is bright blue, lightly pitted bore.
- Joseph Rider, inventor of the famous Remington rolling block system, received a patent on a unique magazine pistol in 1871.
- Chambered for the diminutive .32 caliber Short rim-fire cartridges.
- Rider's Magazine Pistol was manufactured for a short period.
- We will never know exactly how many of these handguns were made; pistols were not serial numbered compounded by the fact that E. Remington & Sons production records are practically non-existent.
