Extremely Scarce Pair Of American Made Flintlock Pistols
With Locks by Baker Homer of Bilston, England
New York State
Circa 1790-1810 - SOLD

In fine original condition, these .58-caliber pistols with 9-inch barrels have full walnut stocks extending to the muzzle. The engraved lockplates with maker’s name are without compromise as are the silver furnishings. The one piece silver trigger guard is engraved and has a terrific integral engraved forward pineapple finial. The one piece silver butt-cap with bright engraving angles upward towards the engraved silver thumb-piece and is embellished with openwork ovals. Amazingly, the original rammers with horn tips remain in their original silver pipes. Barrels are an even brown color; engraved tangs, locks and lockplates are gray. Both pistols are in fine original condition with one having seen more use than the other, hence, one with very minnow pitting about the touchhole that is mentioned for accuracy. Overall length is about 15-inches.
