Flintlock Eprouvette![]() The lock, mechanism and mounts of this 18th century flintlock eprouvette are made of iron while the checkered grip appears to be walnut. The numbers 3, 4, 9, and 10 are faintly visible on the toothed wheel. The grip was broken and repaired with a mucilage type of glue long ago. This may be a pistol that was converted into an eprouvette after it was damaged as was sometimes done. There are no markings on the piece. It is approximately 9.75-inches long.
