Beautiful Cannon-Barrel Flintlock Pistol
With silver wire inlay... - SOLD

This lovely box-lock flintlock pistol has a brass cannon barrel, brass frame and wonderful rounded slab grips with silver wire inlay. The trigger guard and lock plate are iron. This pistol is unsigned and un-proofed. A number "0019733" is engraved on the lower tang, aft of the trigger guard. This could be a European registration number, a museum number or a collector's number. The 5.5 inch round barrel continually expands from breech to muzzle. The patina on the brass is even and medium in color. The iron parts are blued and show strong traces of color. The action is crisp and the gun shows little if any sign of use. There are a few places sans silver wire; see pictures. The overall length is 10.25 inches.
