Revolver, Smith & Wesson,
Model 1 1/2, Second Issue, Engraved, Nickel Finish, Factory Lettered, right facing

According to Roy Jinks (historian, S&W Factory), the handgun was probably Shipped from the factory on May 22, 1873 to S & W’s largest distributor M.W. Robinson Co., New York City, New York; records indicate that the gun was shipped with a 3.5-inch barrel, nickel finish, and rosewood grips. This shipment was for 200-units. Mr. Robinson’s company handled many of the companies’ special orders…it appears that the engraving and ivory grips were added by his company; a common practice for these special orders.
