Retains original; Buffington rear site and front blade sight; good bore - SOLD

Rifle, Springfield U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor with 1889 Cartouche in Walnut Stock, right facing

32.5" barrel, now brown is 45-70-caliber and displays a uniform brown patina; breechblock, tang and lockplate are pretty much brown with some fading to gray; little to no blue or casehardening color remains other than in the interior of barrel receiver; most casehardening color remains on underside of breechblock. Trigger-guard, barrel bands and springs retain much original blue. The stock appears to retain original oiled surface and displays scattered dings, scratches and abrasions.
Hammer is missing upper portion (thumbpiece).
