Smith & Wesson First Model American Revolver, Model No. 3, U.S. Issued, right facing

A.44-caliber top-break revolver featuring 8-inch round barrel with fluted cylinder; mismatched squared butt profile grips which is common among this type of revolver. The pistol displays traces of original blue, else smoky gray; light and scattered areas of pitting; mechanically excellent. U.S. Marked on barrel flat, "A" letter stamping present on left side of frame under cylinder; single line Smith & Wesson Springfield mark with patent dates centered by maltese crosses.
