Stocked in walnut with checkered wrist and having an octagonal to round barrel with length of 44.5-inches; the overall length is 59 5/8-inches...front site and bayonet lug remain intact. The barrel is a nice uniform brown; all metal parts original and in good surface. The single screw lock was made by and is marked Ketland over Adams; Thomas Ketland and John Adams worked in partnership until their bankruptcy in 1825 at Birmingham England. Brass butt-plate; brass trigger guard with long tang and acorn finial; brass pipes and fancy brass ferrule at swell receive the ramrod, which is replaced. There is a silver shield thumb-piece and brass lockplate screw escutcheon; tang and sideplate screws are engraved. The stock has great color and is missing two slivers on one side at top of channel as depicted. Mechanically fine.
