A Ballard Derringer - SOLD

This C.H. Ballard of Worcester, Massachusetts single shot derringer is .41 rimfire caliber top-break style with brass frame. Walnut grips with serial number 2971 inside the grips, under the barrel and on the frame under the barrel breech. (Flayderman Ref 8A-025.) This example has seen much more use and the checkering on the barrel release is only 30% visible. The "Ballard" marking is sharp but the "C.H. Ballard" and patent marking on the left side have been worn off. There is light metal disturbance and some fine pitting and the metal has an aged mottled color. The brass frame is dark. The grips retain no finish and the grip screws have been polished. This gun is all matching, mechanically fine and a pleasant example of the always popular and nicely made Ballard derringer.
