Measurement: Overall length: 60.5"; .74- caliber barrel length: 44.5"

Material:

Measurement: Figured maple stock

Condition: Trivial traces of period pesting to underside of buttstock, lock
functions but is very tight…needs to be oiled.

Additional Information: Members of the Caswell family were making guns prior
to the War of 1812 period; they did not commence making state
contract arms until about 1809-1812. The lock on this gun is
signed J. Caswell likely for John [he had a brother James]. The
Caswell genealogy and businesses is very complex. See The New
