A large barrel/keg style, Revolutionary War era canteen; the staves secured by four
overlapping wrought iron bands. The bung hole block with canted edges is pierced for
carrying strap. These were undoubtedly used during the War of 1812 and taken into
fields by farmers. (8.25" x 8.5" x 6.5")
