Obviously Made by an American Kentucky Rifle/Pistol Maker
Likely 1840s, right facing

.48-Caliber, 3.15” Barrel, Overall: 7.5”
A robust example stocked in curly maple, tiny vacant shield form thumbpiece, silver
barrel key escutcheons, German silver furniture. The mottled octagonal barrel flat
displays engraved initials “LJEB” …hammer and lockplate with zigzag border engraving.
The long breech tang is lightly engraved; tiny front blade sight centered by engraving;
“V” notch rear sight. Action is tight and smooth. Minor wood loss as depicted, at forend
top edges of barrel channel. As is often the case, ramrod is not original.
