Lock [original flint] is unmarked and features brass pan like French model 1777 musket;
iron furniture with three bands retaining the barrel to the stock which has a cheek recess
like the French model 1777… and the same finger ridges on the trigger guard. The
stock remains in very good original condition and displays an original surface in dark
patina. All furniture, parts and barrel are in a robust brown color; very light old surface
rust was long ago cleaned. The initials “MM” carved in the stock ahead of forend of
trigger guard, same initials stamped in stock aft of breech tang. The action is tight and
