U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock Pistol, Simeon North Middletown, Connecticut, Circa 1817-1820, Standard EARLY Mark A Fine Example - SOLD

A Simeon North Model 1816 Flintlock Pistol. 54-caliber round barrel with excellent bore. Marked "S. NORTH in downward curve centering / U(eagle)S / above MIDLTN CON." in upward curve on the lockplate ahead of the cock; breech displays “P” over “US”; There is a “J” stamped in the barrel at pan; pan is stamped with an “N”. The barrel, lock and all other metal surfaces are bright since having been lightly cleaned at some point. The walnut stock is sharp and displays excellent surface color. The action is smooth and strong; holds firm at full and half cock. Overall length: 15.25-inches. Ramrod is an appropriate replacement, all else fine and original.
