Large and heavy tray featuring engraved portrait of George Washington within oval medallion surmounted by star over liberty cap�scroll engraved with Declaration of Independence; a sword and two books all festooned with wreath of laurel. Centering the portrait medallion, held aloft by cherubs are fringed curtains diapered in stars. Beneath the portrait is displayed a swaged wreath of plenty bound by ribbon engraved with the names of many American states. (Tarnished, some silver thinned to cooper on the back, limited to high spots, tarnished, else fine; 33 by 19.5")

Commemorative Art Nouveau candlestick with stylized lilies on column, spirals on the capital, and undulating forms with leaves on quatrefoil base. [STERLING] and [1980] are marked on the bottom surface. Notable names of those engraved (7-names) are architects James H. McGuire (1866 – 1947) and Edgar Josselyn (1861 – 1943).

Condition: Fine, complete set includes buckle, belt loop, and endcap
Additional Information: Bohlin was born in Sweden, he immigrated to the United
States where he worked as a cattle rancher in Montana and Wyoming during the first
quarter of the 20th century. He then worked for Cecil B. DeMille making elaborate
saddles and tack for the movies. As a silversmith he made buckle sets, spurs, and
decorative mounts for saddles.
Edward H. Bohlin (1895 to 1980) one of the most famous collectible western style
silversmiths and leatherworker, who first sold goods to American actor and star of
western films Tom Mix. Later he outfitted many of the well-known movie stars and
celebrities circa 1920 – 1970 including Will Rogers, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy; the
Lone Ranger, Richard Widmark, and Gene Autry.
