Seventeenth Century Iron Powder Flask, Likely Brescia, Italy
Date/Period: Circa 1600
Measurement: Height: 7.75"; width: 4.25"; depth: 2.75"
Condition: One screw is missing, two screws replaced; open back seam with what
appears to be a small hole caused by a ball fired at close range. Also, a small hole in
bottom. Displays well, condition consistent with age and use.
Additional Information: Half round conical body constructed of sheet iron, the faces
are grooved [chiseled]; the cover plate with spiral grooved spout and spring-loaded
locking lever featuring a file work finial. The flat back fitted with belt hook. Four rigid
suspension eyelets remain intact with one missing.
