Blunderbuss, Likely French, Heavy Barrel

The octagonal to round barrel displays a smooth smokey gray color.

Date: 1780-1820

Measurement: Overall length: 32"; barrel length: 16", inside diameter of muzzle: 1 5/8"

Material: Walnut stock, brass flash pan, and furniture

Condition: The cock doesn't hold; tight fissure to wrist caused by wood shrinkage... travels from aft end of trigger guard bow pin to forend of comb. It is doubtful that the ramrod is original. The gun displays well.
