Probably made to order for militia and private sale. The lockplate marked horizontally "CANTON [in arch]" over "T. FRENCH". Very unusual 34" barrel.

Measurement: Overall length: 49"; barrel length: 34", .72-Caliber

Material: Walnut stock

Condition: Original "in-the-black" condition, barrel is smooth brown; lock mostly dark mottled gray. Action is tight and smooth.
