Hautin & Boulanger & Co., Choisy-Le-Roi, France, HB-Medaille D’Or, Faience, Hand Painted Charger France, circa 1880’s

(Impressed mark: Hautin & Boulanger] diameter: 20.25-Inches, height: 1.75”) Outstanding, great subject…American Indian in a tropical forest; likely painted for a New Orleans client; painted on French made and marked porcelain by A. Poisson. (Fine original condition, great color) Pottery was first produced in Choisy-le-Roi in 1804. By 1836, Louis Boulenger 0was managing thee factory; he was succeeded by his son Hippolyte Boulenger in 1863. This wonderful majolica piece is stamped ‘Choisy le Roi’ with the letters HB (presumably for Hippolyte Boulenger.) Rarity, subject matter, quality, and condition are terrific…

Each center painted with the story of Jacob and Esau depicting Jacob offering a bowl from a cauldron on the hearth at the left to the seated archer Esau, above the inscription “Gen: 25. vs 27.”, the rim decorated with a border of stylized floral scrollwork diapered with dots and stripes. Delft Blue & White Sugar Caster, Faience Sugar & Cinnamon Shaker, Muffineer Found in the Netherlands on French Border, 18th Century

A rare and large pear shape with finial raised on spreading circular base…the form inspired by metal casters. The underside pierced to receive sugar candy that had been finely ground in a mortar, which resulted in a coarser sugar than we are used to today.(Height: 8.25”)

Prince of Orange and his wife, Wilhelmina, Princess of Prussia (1751-1820). The inscription, "FSW - PWD5" translates as… "FSW" the name of the Princess Frederika Sophie Wilhelmina; PWD5 for Prince William Batavus De (the) 5th. Very good original condition.
