A rarely encountered ornamented lantern featuring a masonic compass and square, a crescent, a star, and other devices. Carrying ring and crimped heat shield above punch decorated and vented conically shaped top; body and door similarly decorated. The interior contains a single tabbed candle socket.

Date: Circa 1820

Measurement: Height: 14.25"; diameter: 5.25"

Material: Tinned sheet iron

Condition: The solder attaching doors top hinge failed during the lanterns early working life... now attached by tightly attached make-do wire displaying same color and patina. Other trivial imperfections commensurate with age and use that do not distract.
