Armchair, Ladderback, Mushroom Handholds, Outstanding Mustard Yellow Paint

Measurement: Height: 47"; seat height: 17.5"; width: 24.5"; depth: 17"

Material: Mixed woods including maple and ash, splint seat

Condition: Rear legs are ended-out at stretcher; original surface
history…the yellow paint displays a dry patina and dates
to the nineteenth century.

Additional Information: A William and mary turned ladderback slat-back
armchair…original finials above ring-turned posts joining four arched
splats and turned arms; front posts, ring and baluster turned
featuring beautiful mushroom cap handholds. Woven splint seat: legs
ate joined by double box stretcher.

Antique Turned Slat Back Armchair in Great Old Red Paint, 18th Century, angle view

The three arched slats join turned posts featuring tall robust finials; turned arms on capped turned front posts continuing to slightly-tapering feet; the legs joined by the trapezoidal splint split seat and turned double box-stretchers. Wonderful old red paint.
(Seat is pretty much compromised; H: 44”, W: 23”, seat H: 16”, D: 17”)
