Regency Side Chairs, Eagle and Scroll Inlay, Rosewood

Material: Rosewood, ebonized trim, mixed wood inlays

Condition: Very good

Additional Information: Possibly made for the American market…the curved crest rails
with rounded ends featuring spread winged eagle centered by scrolled leafy and floral
inlay; the border with line inlay terminating in a scroll with floret. The medial splat
displays a floret at center flanked by scrolling sprigged inlay. Slip seats within seat rails
joining turned and fluted front legs and rear backswept sabre legs.

Material: Mahogany

Condition: Excellent, old…possibly original surface

Additional Information: The arched molded and incised crest rails with square ends,
and the similarly treated stiles and bottom rails centering floral-carved slats on
pedestals; flaring tops of slats creating an arcaded back featuring waterleaf
carving…long undulating leaves with wavy edges against punched groundwork within
the circle of Samuel McIntire. The over-upholstered seats are raised on frontal square
tapered and reeded legs joined by a recessed box stretcher to raking rear legs.
Presented here are seven side chairs and a single armchair. *We can make four
additional matching chairs available at no charge
[ended-out, leg splice; once
upholstered they are ready for use].

with serpentine fronts…raised on reeded tapering legs.

Material: Maple, rush seats

Condition: Very good, three in original surface, three expertly colored to match

Additional Information:
Carved and tapered “horned” yoke crest above spooned vasiform splat above molded
stay-rail; rear raking posts are molded. The trapezoidal seats with frontal corner-blocks
raised on baluster turned and blocked front legs resting on brush feet...the legs joined
by turned stretchers; bulbous turned ball and ring front stretcher and turned side
stretchers. A very nice, matched set suitable for daily use.
