An early provincial example retaining original pestle featuring a chamfered terminus.

Item Date: Likely 18th Century

Measurement: Mortar Height: 8.75"; Pestle Length: 8"

Material: The motor is probably carved from maple log; pestle appears to be birch or butternut.

Item Condition: Very old [period of use] gray over green paint; traces of green remain on pestle. Scattered old pesting.
