Extremely Rare
Canary yellow glaze with black transfers highlighted with silver luster. A woman wearing a feathered headdress and carrying a bow, is quelling a dark-skinned man, representing America [Etching by T, Hancock, 1805] above “America”. The reverse displays “Peace, Plenty And Independence” centered by 11 interlocked states “Virginia, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Georgia, Vermont, Kentucky, Tennessee” and “Boston”. The American flag displayed at right has 16 stars; this combined with the presence of Tennessee strongly suggest that this jug was produced circa 1796 when Tennessee was admitted to the Union. Below the spout is a bold “Peace And Prosperity To America” within a wreath. Highly reflective silver luster accents.

Item Condition: Handle has a crack and a tiny chip; couple trivial areas of glaze wear on handle mentioned for accuracy. The color and silver luster remain bright and impressive. The piece is magnificent and displays beautifully.
