We assume that a post tenon was compromised, perhaps two or more, we do not know. It could be that the posts shrunk; we have never seen another example or anything similar. There are four handwrought brackets beautifully conforming to end of tablets then continuing to post. The shaping, planishing and color of iron are wonderful. Step-down tablets above baluster and ring turned posts centering seven spindles above plank seat raised on bamboo-turned legs joining bulbus “H” stretchers.
