Miniature Bentwood Boxes, Lot Of Three Pill Boxes in the Hingham Tradition

Miniature round, tack, and peg joined bentwood boxes, opposing-finger construction, clinched tack and peg fastened, in the Hingham shop tradition; formerly, and often referred to in the trade as “Harvard Shaker” boxes.

Item Date: Third quarter 19th century

Measurement: Large to small: 2.5" x 1.25"; 2" x 1"; 1.5" x 1.25"

Material: White pine and maple

Item Condition: The smallest box is fine; largest is excellent with only a sliver of wood missing from top of finger which may have been an “in-the-making” flaw that isn’t very distracting. The medium size box is missing the tip of finger as depicted, else fine.
