Engraved by Jean-Victor Dupin (French, b. 1718) after a work by Alexander Campbell, published by Esnauts et Rapilly (French, 1775–1811). Depicts George Washington (American, 1732–1799), printed and made in France, reflecting his role as Commander-in-Chief of the Anglo-American Army, appointed Dictator by Congress in February 1777.
