This oval adjustable fire screen features a folding shelf for a candle, [a refinement seen on very few examples] is a transitional style featuring snake feet of the Queen Anne and Chippendale styles and the oval shape typical of Neoclassical designs. The oval shaped screen travels vertically on a turned shaft featuring an acorn finial. The shelf with elliptical dropleaf is attached to a shaped backboard that is also vertically adjustable. The beautiful urn-turned standard featuring outstanding detail is raised on chamfered and ridged cabriole legs continuing to snake feet [also ridged] resting on full pads.

Item Condition: Excellent, all hardware is period however there are differences suggesting possible replacements.
