The work is in a walnut box featuring a carved lid displaying foliate and scrolled devices, grapes and grape leaves against a carved background.

The original model of Bacchante and Infant Faun by Frederick William MacMonnies (American, 1863-1937) cast in 1894 [roughly 83″ tall] is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC.
