White, the color of purity, appropriate for a newly married bride
Rectangular upper case with central finial over an eglomise parcel gilt and stenciled decorated glazed door bearing repainted “Aaron Willard. Boston.” opening to the dial face with Roman numerals over the base featuring the original eglomise panel displaying central scene of a young man and women with rabbits within garden. The molded base raised on brass paw feet.

Item Condition: Legitimate brides’ model that was overpainted…the overpaint subsequently removed exposing original surface; dial mat repainted to match original color. Thinning stenciling on base molding; likely had rope moldings on frames which are regilded. Top glass replaced, painted by Thomas Moberg [one of the finest tablet painters in America]; minor repair to crutch… runs well and keeps perfect time. Replaced finial, displays well.
