Josiah Stone was born February 10, 1759, in Lexington, Massachusetts; he was a successful farmer in Hancock, New Hampshire; he died in 1845. At age 19 he served as a soldier in the Revolutionary war; he was in Colonel Enoch Hale’s Regiment that marched to reinforce the Continental Army in Rhode Island.
He married Millicent Wheeler in 1784 who was born in Lincoln, Massachusetts 18 May 1764 and died in Hancock, NH 11 December 1853 after birthing 10 children.
