Scarce Forehand & Wadsworth New Model Army six-shot, single-action revolver, serial no. 65, chambered in .44 Russian. Manufactured in Worcester, Massachusetts, the New Model Army was one of Forehand & Wadsworth’s large-frame revolvers developed during the highly competitive American military handgun market of the 1870s. The model features a solid frame, fluted cylinder and side-mounted ejector assembly. Surviving examples are scarce, with published sources placing combined production of the firm’s Old and New Model Army revolvers at fewer than 2,000 examples.

Material: Nickel-finished iron frame, barrel and cylinder; original ivory grips
Item Condition: Exceptionally fine condition, retaining approximately 98% bright nickel finish on the frame and barrel; cylinder retains approximately 85% of its nickel finish. Nicely aged original ivory grips exhibit a small amount of natural age shrinkage.
