American, Probably New York City
Featuring gold leaf, green gem-like glass embellishments, and red glass stitching
Beautifully made stylized…heeled, laced boot with bowknot and aglets, hooks for upper lacing, stitched seams, soles with notched edges, and pierced trim featuring red and green glass inserts for night-time illumination. This trade stimulator speaks to a time when ornate and elaborate shop signs were common, especially for trades like shoemaking. The use of gold and decorative elements aligns to the turn of the last century.
