17th Century Board Chest, Punchwork & Compass Decorated & Incised Façade

The slightly projecting lid having molded back edge and cleats retains original cotter pin hinges. The front panelboard with molded top edge features chip-carved outside edges [and punched decoration] and scratch-carved initials “SI” centering compass decoration. Beneath the lidded till is a shelf. The chest is raised on “M”-form side cutouts…the front retains original corner brackets.
