Half-length portrait of a handsome young lad holding a red book standing before rich red drapery which adds depth and richness. This painting compares to “Portrait of a Boy” in the collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art.

The portrait in the NCAM also features a subject [boy] with a book against a scarlet curtain.

Measurement: Frame: 23.5" x 27.5"; view; 15.5" x 23.75"

Material: Oil on canvas

Item Condition: The canvas is lined and mounted on a period stretcher. Scattered minor touches. The black painted frame with gilt liner is period.
