Antique Candlestand Likely by Samuel Dunlap, Iconic Dunlap Form

A fine and classic composition featuring a delicately shaped top having cusped corners and rounded edges. The underside of top is sharply chamfered; cleat affixed to faceted and tapered standard having baluster, ring and urn turnings and classic hexagonal base. The table is raised on arris molded carved cabriole tripod base, the legs ending in well-worn pad feet; underside of legs where tenoned and pinned to standard are notched and ogee shaped. The terminus of shaft is ornamented with a turned drop.

Item Condition: Excellent overall condition; trivial early working period repair to failed wooden peg, else commensurate with age and use.
