A wonderful Piscataqua region armchair displaying a classic vocabulary of shop traditions including the upper sections of rear stiles, the finials with turned tips, the sawn serpentine arms with drooping handholds featuring gouge-carved decoration; double-ball turning on front stretchers; sloping double-arched crest rail, and the double-arched stay rail beneath turned and split banisters displaying a profile that conforms to stiles.
