A pair of dimensionally identical boxes of lap constructions joined with tine "T" head finish nails. Faux graining simulating tiger maple done with ochre and yellow paint; lid edges displaying painted contents labels.

Condition: Trivial imperfections commensurate with age and use... one lid with shrinkage fissure.
Provenance: Purported History: Supposedly both boxes were purchased in the 1960's from Ed Thompson who was known as "Shaker Ed", an old picker who worked at the Enfield Village as a caretaker when it closed during the early 20th century. He traded his work for pieces left behind when the last Shakers moved to other Shaker communities [before land and buildings were sold].
Regardless of provenance or lack thereof, the boxes are attractive and display well.
