Obverse shows Admiral Vernon and Commodore Brown, his second in command. This is one of the multi-portrait Vernon medals. At the edge: ADMIRAL VERNON AND COMODORE BROWN. Reverse shows six ships and fort, edge with: WHO TOOK PORTOBELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY. At the bottom: NOV 22 1739. The Adams-Chao number is PBvb 12T; Betts NUMBER 162, and the McCormick-Goodhart number is 158. A "6" rarity; 17-32 examples known in this variety.
