Engraved World War I Cricket Award Fashioned out of a French 50 Centimes

Engraved World War I Cricket Award Fashioned out of a French 50 Centimes, Image 1

The reverse of the host coin is engraved with 74TH DIV. MT. COY B.E.F. FRANCE / (horseshoe & spurs) / WORKSHOPS / WINNERS / CRICKET TOURNAMENT / PTE W. SHERWIN / JUNE (3 leaf clover) 1918. It has a loop attached at the top for suspension. This is most likely a British mounted division. In looking at the obverse, it may have been gold washed at one point in time. An interesting and well-done piece!
