French Model 1777 Flintlock Musket, Maubeuge, Image 1

Lock marked "Maubeuge / Manuf" with a "7" near the pan, breech marked with an "8 N / LN 93" with "LECHEVIN" on the barrel tang, and "B/1814" on the left side of the breech; also displayed are scattered inspectors' marks. The walnut stock features a cut out cheek piece, three-barrel bands, a trumpet head ramrod, sling swivels and a finger groove triggerguard.

Measurement: .71 Caliber, Barrel: 42", overall; 57.5"

Material: Walnut stock, iron fittings except the pan which is brass.

Condition: Stock is very good with a tight fissure ahead of lock to channel, probably original finish; metal parts in bright finish; mechanically tight and smooth... excellent original condition.
