The Stocking Group which includes four closely related desks on frames was named for Luther Stocking, an early owner. All five display outstanding related design features; fitted interiors with hidden compartments behind prospect section, and similar construction.

Date: 1760-1795

Measurement: Height: 44.5"; writing height: 32"; width: 40"; depth: 18.75"

Material: Cherry, secondary woods: white and yellow pine; two drawer backs are poplar.

Condition: Very good, commensurate with age and use. One trivial minor lip repair. Hardware is replaced.
