Queen Anne Candlestick, Image 1

Unusual English eighteenth century so called "Queen Anne" candlestick (though made later in the century than her reign). The socket with an upward flare over a truncated top, above an inverted baluster, above a knop, the shaft joined to an octagonal base in the usual way, the base a square with cut corners. Typical two part shaft castings and cast base.

Date: 18th Century

Measurement: Height: 6.5"

Material: Brass (copper alloy)

Condition: Underside of base where joining shaft has been soldered; trivial loss of brass... a tiny hole at seam as depicted; stick was well-used... displays well.
