Back of handle signed "ZC" 1847; skimmer impressed "BCC", Intricately wrought shaped handle. Extremely rare hanging ring continuing to an arched, flaring and tapering handle, the back features a pronounced ridge; the handles tapers and to a squared section with chamfered edges as it nears the sieve. The handle terminus is magnificently shaped; tapered shoulders and circular device receive large planished copper rivets. The handle appears to be fire gilt or which thinning traces remain.
