Serial number 13127. Fully and clearly marked on part octagon/round barrel; on the flat is found: "VICTOR", on the side: "JM MARLIN / NEW HAVEN CT. / Pat. April 5, 1870" A nice example of Marlin's most powerful derringer, although smaller in caliber than the .41-caliber marlin, this cartridge had 2-3 times the power.
Measurement: 2.75" barrel, .38-caliber long rim fire
Material: Brass frame, rosewood grips
Condition: 10-15% original blue. The brass frame displays an oatmeal-like color and features a nice dark patina; very good bore; mechanically fine; excellent original grips (the left grip is darker than the right and displays a very minor ding.)
